We are working in partnership with Swansea Canal Society, Pontardawe based artist and designer John Howes, and year 5 pupils from Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Pontardawe to create a permanent art fixture alongside the canal in Ynysmeudwy. The structure is an interpretation of the industrial heritage of the area.

The structure will be made of  reclaimed pipe and incorporate some old tools used in the past by the local industries.

Pupils from YGG Pontardawe were involved in 3 sessions to produce a series of cast iron plaques which will be placed on and around the art work. They represent their interpretation of local heritage and Swansea Valley.
