This project was identified by Cwmllynfell Community Council. They wanted to replace the cemtery gates with new ones that reflected the character and history of Cwmllynfell.

Angharad Pearce Jones was commissioned to design and produce the gates. Several workshops were held to inspire the design.The children from Cwmllynfell Primary met older community members and heard their stories of growing up in the area. Using these tales and their own experiences the children, under Angharad’s guidance designed and built (out of paper spills)their own gates.

In order for the children to understand the whole process, they also had a visit to Angharad’s forge, where they all had a go at metal working!

Following the workshops Angharad used everybody’s designs to produce the final design and gates.
