This project was developed in partnership with the Upper Aman Valley Renewal area and Aman Communities First. We were involved in the second part of a scheme that replaced a disused toilet block with a community space and major gateway feature in Gwaun Cae Gurwen.

Following the development of a new ‘village square’ Groundwork facilitated the development of a sculpture. To begin with we found the ‘Right Artist for the job’ through an event were an exhibition of 3 artist work was held and local people voted on the one whose style would work best in their community.

 Naomi Leake was appointed and worked with the whole community to develop the final sculptural piece. Over the course of the project several consultations and workshops were held and over 150 individuals took part.
